Saturday morning and an England Athletics Flying Coach stint for Dover Road Runners AC on Dover Seafront Promenade. The early mist cleared and made way for some wellcome warmish Spring sunshine throughout the session. A lot of money appears to have been spent on the promenade in recent years and it appears to have been fully resurfaced (I seem to recall this being related to the 2012 Olympic Torch Relay passing through the Port ? ) The good news is that the new surface is a lot more forgiving for runners than concrete or concrete slabs and with the enhanced lighting and separated cycle way it all makes for an ideal Winter interval session location providing the tourist/visitor footfall is light. Fantastic backdrop with the castle and White Cliffs up above and the Harbour alongside.
Great morning spent with an enthusiastic group of runners and members of their coaching team. Dover Road Runners has reformed in recent years and they look to have a bright future.
