A lot of people are interested in taking up running for fitness simply to improve their general health and fitness,as part of a weight loss plan or to use running as a fitness base for their main sporting activity.

It is particularly important for those who have little or no experience of running to seek expert advice before commencing more intensive running activities or programmes in order to avoid  possible over use injury problems or complications.

Our initial review and assessment service will provide a structured introduction to running for fitness with a gradual development plan to minimise the risk of injury. As part of this plan we can also offer at times to suit you follow up accompanied training runs  to build confidence and monitor progress.

Running for fitness as with other sports requires an investment in kit. Fortunately in the case of running the kit involved is relatively inexpensive. It is particularly important in terms of safety and confidence however in that those new to running are equipped with shoes and clothing which is appropriate to the types of running which they will be undertaking.
