Saturday afternoon and the first cross country of the supposedly Winter season in the first event in the Kent League series. At a venue I have never run at before – Stanhill Farm,Wilmington Near Dartford. 4 laps of narrow farm tracks totaling just under 10K. As for the “winter” conditions well it was sunny , around 20c with only a light breeze and the tracks were bone dry throughout – felt more like a Mid August trail race. Gave my newly acquired Mudclaws their first outing – totally mudless/spotless at the end of the race! Will have to wait a few weeks for a real trial assuming we are going to get some winter mud !
Still a very enjoyable event with a great atmosphere – very well marked out and great marshaling throughout.
