Gerry has been a UKA Level 4 ( Senior) Long Distance and Marathon Coach since 2003 and currently acts as an England Athletics “Flying Coach”in the South East Region visiting EA affiliated clubs and conducting/advising training sessions.
He has been the Head Coach of Canterbury Harriers Running Club since 1997 during which time he has coached a large number of club runners of all ages from beginners and relatively inexperienced runners through to elite standard runners and has been responsible for the supervision and development of new coaches. Throughout this time he has also been responsible for the the preparation of all club training programmes including Marathon programmes. .
Gerry holds a current DBS ( formerly CRB = Criminal Records Bureau) Enhanced Check certification.
He has significant experience in advising runners on running technique injury prevention and rehabilitation and is an experienced Sports First Aider.
Gerry has competed in a large number of road races, cross country events and fell races including six London Marathons and on top of his ongoing role as Head Coach to Canterbury Harriers he continues to train and compete regularly in local road and cross country races as well as inter club league events.
He has been directly involved for over 15 years in the planning and organisation of a wide range of club and charity races and has acted as an advisor to high profile charity events such as Race for Life and Sport Relief. He is currently a trustee/organiser for the Cancer Research UK Man on the Run charity.
He has longstanding experience in race route planning , risk assessments and race signage siting and is a qualified UK Athletics Road Race Risk Assessor.

A keen runner and a member of Canterbury Harriers since his teens, Sean is an experienced marketeer in both digital and non digital realms.
Having worked with some of the biggest brands and highest traffic websites in the country, Sean has also been involved with the creation of marketing campaigns and websites for both charity and non charity races in London and the South East.
Sean trains regularly and recently completed his debut marathon in London.
