It must be spring since the National Cross Country Championships signalling the end of the cross country season were held at Donington Park , in Leicestershire at the weekend and the BBC weather forecasters have been reminding viewers that officially yesterday 1st March was the first day of spring. And true to form after a sustained period of bitingly cold windy weather here in the South East yesterday , despite the cloud cover , felt almost balmy and I found myself to be distinctly sweaty after an easy seven mile run. Fast forward less than 24 hours and , yes you may have guessed it , Spring has been put on hold , the north easterly wind has come back with a gusty vengeance and the car is covered in hailstones. Was looking forward to some dryish off road trail running but will have to stick with tarmac and concrete until the seasons sort themselves out ?
