Friday made a trip to the Pestalozzi International Village near Battle to scope a route within the grounds for a new Man on the Run (Cancer Research UK) event in July this year. Beautiful location with some magnificent trees in the grounds. Did a full circuit of the fields to get a prelim plan for a 5K approx route. Chose to wear walking boots as opposed to wellies. Big mistake! As with most of the country it seems fields = boggy underfoot so ended up with somewhat soggy feet. Would make an ideal two lapper cross country venue in Winter though and hopefully by July it will make for a great MOTR route once all the water has drained away and the planned course has dried out. Looking forward to a second recce in the spring when I hope to run and confirm the route.
