After a six year break from marathon running  and following a fairly minimal training programme stood on the start line at Blackheath with some trepidation particularly as the promised 13-14 degree temperature increasingly felt more like 19-20 on a beautiful clear day.Usual great atmosphere at the start and throughout with a sense of there being even bigger crowds than normal all the way round the course – probably out of respect and as a tribute to the people of Boston.Yes it did turn out to be significantly hotter than anticipated. Can`t remember at what point exactly the “never again ” demon started whispering to me but not long after the end of my run( a liitle bit later than on previous occasions I think ) the “but what  if ” angel popped up and for runners the angels normally vanquish the demons. So this may not be my last!
