Bank Holiday Monday went to watch the Pilgrims Hospice Canterbury Half Marathon Race between the 12 mile point and the finish. Great to see the race back on the calendar after a break of a year.
Thankfully no repeat of last weeks temperatures and a big turn out of runners for the event. Smashing to see the guts and determination of all the runners over what is a particularly challenging circuit with a sting in the tail just before the end. Made me wonder how many had committed to such a tough race without a structured training programme or without having done any hill training.
Fantastic crowd support around the finish line. It looked and felt like a scene from a Tour de France mountain stage finish!
